Set the children up with a creative project before you embark on seaside excursions to personalise their own crabbing kit, body board or just a basic bucket and spade.

For the crabbing kit, we took an old biscuit tin, sprayed it with Plasti-kote Flat Metallic in Pewter and stuck sticky letters on to make a great bait tin. We used Plasti-kote Super Orange Gloss to spruce up an old wicker hamper and add a personalised touch to the end of the net handle. The tatty bucket and spade were sprayed with Plasti-kote Super Light Blue Gloss. The same colours were used on the body board with the addition of white by a creative teenager who made a stencil of Nemo. The pastel bucket and spade were sprayed in Plasti-kote's Cameo Pink and Pale Lilac in a satin finish.

Once they have finished on the beach projects, there are no end of easy makeovers or artistic projects they can achieve during the summer holidays with Plasti-kote spray paint - a colourful canvas for their room, pretty pots for the patio, a painted picture frame for their favourite holiday photo - with minimal help from a responsible adult!
